It is National Foster Care Awareness month and we are excited to provide your church with a variety of ways to be involved. According to a study released by Focus on The Family in 2014 there were 1,008 children in waiting in Colorado and over 3,813 churches. If only 1 in 3 churches in Colorado would pursue helping even one child in the foster care system, the wait could be over.
There are numerous ways to get your church involved, and we’ve worked hard to make that easy for you. Beyond helping families to become foster parents, we want to serve as an outlet for numerous impactful service projects that the entire church can get behind this month, on Orphan Sunday(Nov. 13), or any time throughout the coming months! To the left we’ve listed 3 simple options that can involve everyone!
Please contact us to today and let us talk you through the options or take you out for coffee to talk about practical and manageable ways your church can begin to partner with us to end the need for foster care in Colorado! Give us a call at (719)583-2200!
OPTION 1: Sweet Cases
Partner with ‘Together We Rise’ to provide suitcases for Pueblo’s Foster Children so they don’t have to transport their belongings in trash bags.
Option 2: Hope Packs
Partner with ‘Feed The Children’ to provide Backpacks with hygiene items for Pueblo’s Foster Children through Bridges foster homes.
Option 3: Host a Hope Movie Night
Invite a Bridges to host a table and show a family film with a foster care related theme. A staff member will open the film and close it with a brief description of how Bridges serves our community and is looking forward to partnering with the parents of your church who are interested in becoming foster parents.
